Why You Will Love this Job: BASIC FUNCTION Create and execute supply chain strategies for purchased components that support multiple production locations in North America. Continuously communicate business needs to external and internal vendors and maintain relationships with assigned vendors. Frequent discussion with external partners on forecast changes, on-time delivery performance, coordinating schedule changes for purchased material that supports manufacturing needs. Cross-functional collaboration, strong accountability, and continuous improvement drive success in meeting key results. Daily activities include supply planning/development, order management, and relationship management. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the tactical strategy elements of the procurement function which include the following: Develop and execute order management strategies for respective suppliers and/or commodities. Continuously evaluate the performance of supply strategies and adjust to meet the needs of the business. Work with master scheduling, production scheduling, SIOP, freight shipping partners, and plant operations to support planned production rates in the near and long term. Drive cross-functional meetings, analyze performance data/trends, support special projects, and perform other duties that drive key results. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Supervisory Relationships: Reports to Supervisor - Procurement One-on-one relationship with Buyers Organization Relationships: Has frequent contact with personnel in finance, accounts payable, materials, receiving, logistics, master scheduling, SIOP, purchasing, supplier quality and manufacturing operations. External Business Relationships: Frequent contact with vendors. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma Required Bachelor's degree in supply chain or APICS Certification preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams Previous purchasing or materials management experience preferred. Familiarity with how Detailed Scheduling Planning and basics of MRP are used for production planning and inventory control. SAP ERP system experience preferred.
