Description

We are looking for an experienced communications professional who has a passion for media relations, corporate and internal communications.
You have a knack for sniffing out story angles that will get the attention of mainstream media and enjoy seeing through the entire process of garnering media stories – from researching and identifying story angles, to pitching stories, to arranging interviews, to monitoring and analysing media coverage.

Responsibilities

Frame messages

  • Understand how to craft messages for different target audiences.Evaluate effectiveness of messaging efforts through research insights.

Plan and manage media publicity to secure impactful media stories

  • Identify and build a bank of potential news stories that amplify the agency’s narrative and programmes.
  • Identify relevant channels, story types, appropriate spokespersons, pitching strategy to secure media stories. Collaborate with partner agencies where applicable.
  • Prepare media releases, factsheets, bios, media briefing documents, post event media coverage reports with minimal guidance.
  • Respond to routine queries on agency’s services and policies in accordance to defined guidelines.
  • Understand current news that the agency intends to communicate and determine if there is a sufficiently fresh news angle.Support media events to maximise positive coverage of the agency’s policies and principals.

  • Manage media engagement
    Assist, support and coordinate administrative and logistics for media cultivation programmes.


  • Corporate and internal communications
    Prepare all corporate and internal communications materials including annual reports, corporate collaterals (brochures, fact sheets, videos, presentations, branding materials), staff announcements and organise staff townhalls amongst other things.

Cross team integration

  • Work closely with the marketing communications and other IPOS teams to align messaging, develop story pipelines, integrate and coordinate communications work across all channels for maximum impact.Support ongoing integration work for the corporate communications and marketing communications teams to ensure clarity, synergies, and alignment of work processes.
