Hartley People Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Executive Officer, for a 6 month contract with our client within the Educational Sector. This post is an immediate start.
The responsibilities of the postholder are varied and relate to the central oversight role in ensuring adherence by institutions to different elements of the agreed Educational Governance Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with relevant parties in Government Departments, institutions, and relevant third parties; engaging with these stakeholders in respect of governance issues.
  • Support the Annual Governance Statement return and associated data analysis and feedback process.
  • Review and oversee updates to Standard Operating Procedures and develop new SOPs as required.
  • Participate in relevant internal and external meetings on behalf of system governance, providing secretariat to such meetings as required.
  • Support Senior Managers with the preparation of briefing material in advance of external meetings
  • Provide cross-cover for the work of SEO team colleagues as required.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the position which may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Manager or the Deputy Chief Executive
  • Support Freedom of Information and Data Protection Requests by assisting with the collation of documents and preparation of document schedules.

Requirements:

  • A relevant third-level qualification in governance, public administration, law, business, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience in governance, compliance, or a related field within the public or higher education sector.
  • Excel Proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks and governance codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and interpret governance issues.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a team effectively.
