Established in 1981, the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is one of the largest mechanical engineering schools globally. With a distinguished faculty and a vibrant community of undergraduate and graduate students, MAE is renowned for its cutting-edge research in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, biomedical, industrial, maritime engineering, and robotics. The Senior Executive, Student Care & Development, will be a key member of the MAE Undergraduate Office, providing timely and effective support for student well-being. This role is integral to delivering high-quality service to our student community and ensuring alignment with the NTU2025 strategic plan. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining accurate student records, collaborating with faculty and administrative offices, and supporting students in need.

Your key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Manage and execute the full spectrum of student well-being initiatives within MAE
  • Strategically develop, implement, and review academic mentoring and peer tutoring programmes
  • Conduct data analytics to identify emerging trends and areas of concern
  • Collaborate with various NTU offices to ensure alignment in welfare strategies and implementation plans
  • Curate engaging and meaningful content for the monthly student well-being newsletter
  • Provide logistical and operational support for school activities that benefit the student population
  • Ensure all programmes and operations comply with NTU’s policies and guidelines

Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelor in a related discipline
  • Good knowledge about major approaches to students’ counselling, with prior counselling skills and practice
  • Understand the ethical and professional issues in counselling
  • Good knowledge and skills in working with different people, especially with young adults
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferably with 3 years of work experience in the school/ polytechnic/ university environment.
