Job Description We are seeking a qualified Exercise Physiologist for services within the Cardiomyopathy and Sports Cardiology sections within the Department of Cardiology. The role includes both clinical care and performance assessment through safe, accurate, and evidence-based exercise testing. The successful candidate will work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to patient management, risk stratification, and performance evaluation. Job Responsibilities Assess patient exercise for athletic sports participation, rehabilitation, preprocedural testing, and prognosis in chronically ill patients. Administer Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET), including protocol selection using a cycle ergometer or treadmill, spirometry, monitoring ECG, vital signs and gas exchange variables as per AHA/ACSM/ACC/ATS established guidelines and current protocols. May mentor and train other exercise physiologists, trainees, or staff on technical skills Design and implement patient specific exercise programs as per ACSM/AHA guidelines Analyze and interpret CPET data and prepare reports for physician interpretation Prepare and maintain required reports and statistics, including documentation within electronic medical record and CPET database Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, supply inventory and quality assurance testing Participate in service development, education, or research activities as required Adhere to clinical safety, emergency, and infection control protocols Perform related duties as required. This position will be 4 days a week 10 hour shifts. Manhattan HF and Sports Cardiology (3 days per week) and Staten Island HF Cardiology (1 day per week when testing is needed). Job Qualifications Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology or Clinical Exercise Science Current Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM) Certification plus specialized certifications as needed Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR Certification, and Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification.This position will be 4x 10h shifts Strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, ECG interpretation and testing guidelines desired 3-5 years relevant experience *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
