Description

DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS

  • Responsible for expediting the orders and assures that the material is delivered on time with all the applicable document deliverables.
  • Monitor the progress from suppliers on delivery and highlight the concern if there is any delay. Ensure the corrective actions are implemented timely.
  • Ensure the availability of detailed packing list for all the deliverables. Co-ordinate with Logistic Buyer and ensure the freight forwarder finalization on time to meet project schedule.
  • Provide the progress / concern status to the Lead Expeditor regularly about material availability and shipments at supplier’s end as necessary.
  • Responsible for updating the PO status in Procurement tracker / Expediting Module in the computer programme.
  • Maintain continuous follow-up on document deliverables for each applicable order and ensure the timely delivery and co-ordinate for documents approval to maintain the committed delivery date.
  • Co-ordinate and arrange all the requested certificates and clarify the discrepancies to clear the inspection from supplier.
  • Arrange the meeting or tele-conference discussion with supplier and prepare mitigation plan if the delay is beyond agreed date.
  • Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed.
  • Co-ordinate and arrange all the requested certificates and clarify the discrepancies to clear the inspection from supplier.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the section head.
  • Ensure the clear & smooth flow of communication with supplier, end user and all the team members to achieve the delivery completion as per agreed schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Engineering Degree Technical discipline.
  • Leadership training.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the relevant field (if Engineering degree holder). Minimum 10 years’ experience for Diploma Holder.
  • Sound knowledge of technical terminology, particularly that used in a marine environment.
  • Familiar with material standards / certification and Quality System.
  • Working knowledge of international trade & shipping terms.
  • Possess knowledge of MS Office applications.
