Description
Senior Experimental Physicist – Space Research Technology Location: Cluses, France Company Overview: INAUTALENT is supporting the International Space Federation (ISF), a pioneering R&D organization based in Cluses (French Alps), in strengthening its team. ISF is at the forefront of research on gravity-control propulsion and quantum-vacuum energy, aiming at clean and sustainable energy solutions. Through international academic partnerships, ISF pushes the boundaries of fundamental physics to transform energy production and transportation while addressing global ecological challenges. The organization operates at the intersection of relativity and quantum mechanics, exploring technologies that could redefine our understanding of the universe. Its mission: turning bold scientific concepts into tangible technologies capable of changing the world. Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Experimental Physicist to lead hands-on experimental research activities within an advanced physics laboratory environment. This role is strongly practice-oriented and focuses on designing, building, operating, and analyzing complex experiments involving resonant analog electronic systems, RF resonant circuits, cold plasma configurations, and magnet-coil energy collection devices. The position requires a rigorous experimentalist capable of translating theoretical concepts into measurable physical systems through precise instrumentation, iterative experimentation, and careful data analysis. Key Responsibilities: Design, assemble, and execute experimental setups involving: Analog resonant electronic circuits (including high-efficiency switching designs such as Joule Thief–type architectures) RF resonant LCR systems with specific electromagnetic behavior Spinning cold plasma configurations Rotating magnet-coil systems for energy harvesting and energy collection Perform precise electrical, electronic, and electromagnetic measurements using laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, LCR meters, power meters, etc.). Collect, process, and interpret experimental data; identify unexpected phenomena and iteratively refine experimental designs. Maintain a safe, organized, and well-documented laboratory environment, including troubleshooting experimental setups and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Collaborate closely with engineers and junior researchers, providing technical guidance and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Contribute to improving experimental methodologies and support the transition of promising experimental results toward practical technological applications. Required Profile: Education: Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Languages: Fluency in English is required; French is a plus. Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experimental laboratory experience. Demonstrated expertise in experimental physics involving analog electronics, RF or microwave measurements, and/or electromechanical systems. Strong practical experience using and interpreting measurements from electrical and electronic laboratory instrumentation. Proven ability to transform raw experimental measurements into rigorous scientific conclusions. Ability to work autonomously on complex experiments within a small, collaborative research environment. Preferred Qualifications: Practical experience with resonant analog circuits or high-Q RF systems. Experience with cold plasma generation or electromagnetic field interaction experiments. Familiarity with data acquisition and analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python (NumPy/SciPy), LabVIEW, or equivalent environments. Experience mentoring or supervising junior scientists or engineers in a laboratory setting. Knowledge of high-frequency and/or high-voltage experimental techniques and associated laboratory safety practices. Ideal Candidate Profile : You are a curious and rigorous experimental physicist who enjoys building experimental systems from scratch and investigating subtle physical effects through precise measurement. You combine strong theoretical understanding with excellent laboratory execution skills. You are meticulous about measurement accuracy, comfortable with iterative experimentation, and motivated by the exploration of unconventional physical phenomena and advanced energy systems. You communicate clearly, enjoy knowledge sharing, and thrive both independently and as part of a focused research team. Competitive salary. Comprehensive health insurance fully covered by the company (for employees and children). Performance-based bonus. High degree of flexibility and autonomy in work organization. Opportunities for professional growth within an innovative international research organization. Potential assistance with relocation and immigration to France, as required.
