Description
We are looking for a Senior Expert Digital Unit Setup / Organizational Design to support our client in setting up a new Digital Unit within the CTO organization. The new unit will focus on transformation and innovation — complementing the existing IT organization, which is mainly focused on operations and stability. Key topics include data platforms, AI/ML, IoT, process intelligence, and business value creation. Start: ASAP Duration: Until mid-July 2026 Capacity: 100% Location: Remote / on-site mix to be aligned Setup: Freelance Tasks Design the target operating model and organizational structure for the new Digital Unit Clearly define the differentiation and interfaces between Digital Unit, IT, CTO organization, and business functions Develop role descriptions, responsibilities, competency profiles, and key interfaces Create market-aligned job postings for prioritized key roles Structure the initial Phase 1 scope and focus areas of the new unit Define collaboration models, governance principles, and decision-making interfaces Work closely with the internal project lead and selected business experts Requirements Senior experience in organizational design, digital transformation, operating model design, or CTO/IT strategy Strong understanding of digital innovation topics such as data, AI/ML, IoT, or process intelligence Experience in defining roles, governance models, collaboration structures, and business-facing digital functions Ability to translate strategic objectives into pragmatic organizational and role concepts Strong stakeholder management skills across IT, business, and executive functions Structured, hands-on, and able to deliver results in a short timeframe Fluent English required; German is a plus
