Job Description Summary Location: Basel, Switzerland #onsite Role purpose: The position is within the Global Technical R&D department of Global Drug Development. Within this organization Chemical & Analytical Development (CHAD) plays an essential role in the development of processes for manufacturing and analysis of Antibody-Oligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs). Job Description Your Responsibilities: With your strong expertise and creativity in chemical synthesis and process development, you take a leading role in setting up future chemistry and manufacturing pathway for Antibody-Oligonucleotide-Conjugates (AOCs) and other complex constructs. You will be a key contributor to engage and ensure adequate support and knowledge transfer for Novartis BD&L activities focussing on bioconjugation chemistry and manufacturing processes. In our labs, your experimental designs will be executed and allow you to interpret and report data and results Further, he/she coordinates and ensures timely availability and transfer of manufacturing instructions to pilot plant within Chemical & Analytical Development (CHAD) or CMOs. As a core member of cross-functional teams, you collaborate closely with our internal and external partners to ensure timely and quality delivery of new nucleotide drugs to our patients Further, you will provide relevant process documentation in support of filing of dossiers. You will also actively participate in scientific exchange groups within Novartis and Academia and maintain excellent collaboration with our customers. Minimum Requirements: Education: We are looking for candidates with PhD and PostDoc in organic chemistry preferably with specialization in the field of bio-conjugation or chemical modification of fermentation products. Experience and Expertise: In addition, the ideal candidate would have the following professional experience: Recent and proven knowledge in space of chemical bioconjugation or chemical modification of fermentation products, e.g. Antibody-Drug Conjugations, etc. or other complex molecular structures is an essential requirement 2-5 years experience in synthesis/ chemical process development is a strong requirement, experience in piloting experience under GMP is a benefit Independent and self-motivated workstyle with team orientation and adequate communication style is an essential requirement Advanced knowledge of software and computer tools such as Office package, DoE tools, etc. is desirable Language Skills: Adequate knowledge of English language is a requirement (oral and written), German and other language skills are beneficial.
