DESCRIPTION The Global Export & Sanctions Compliance (GESC) team at Apple complies with worldwide laws governing the exports of technology and products. We develop creative and innovative solutions to solve compliance challenges at Apple. As an integral part of GESC you will be responsible for a wide array of compliance activities including aligning with the EU Dual Use Export Regulations, and the Irish Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment (DETE) Export Controls. You will also assist the Sanctions Compliance personnel on regional level determinations in relation to applicable Restrictive Measures and sanctions regulations. You will partner with Apple’s engineering, operations, and other organizations across the EMEIA region and collaborating with the GESC personnel at Apple headquarters to assess and classify all technologies, and execute all compliance activities in support of Apple’s activities in the region. You will also be responsible for US deemed re-export compliance. Furthermore, you will be maintaining and executing all aspects of Internal Compliance Program including Export Compliance Awareness trainings, developing and implementing compliance processes and procedures for Ireland. In addition, you will be expected to participate and contribute to the many other facets of responsibilities which the export compliance department manages across the company. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Strong working knowledge of the Irish Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment (DETE) Export Controls and EU Dual Use Export Controls Experience in developing, maintaining, and executing an Internal Compliance Program in accordance with the EU Dual Use Regulations, and Iris DETE Export Controls Experience with investigating and researching companies and individuals for applicable compliance risks such as End-Use, End-User, Diversion, and sanctions risks Experience in with reexport controls of US Export Administration Regulations Working knowledge of hw, sw product, part and component classifications per EU Dual Use Export Regulations Excellent project management and documentation skills Bachelors degree in engineering, law, international business, international trade, or a related degree or equivalent work experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in or proven ability to learn quickly and support new areas of regulation and technology Strong work ethic and collaboration skills including with an international team Ability to lead, take action and provide direction in the face of ambiguity and to get results in diverse, fast-paced environments Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and ability to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications Ability to build relationships and partner at all levels of the organization Familiarity with international regulations and experience with investigating and researching companies and individuals for sanctions risks Mac, MacOS and iOS proficiency
Responsibilities
This role involves managing compliance activities related to worldwide laws governing technology and product exports, specifically aligning with EU Dual Use Export Regulations and Irish DETE Export Controls.
