This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply advanced cybersecurity and engineering expertise to support critical aviation infrastructure programs. You will work at the intersection of technology and operations, ensuring the security and integrity of national airspace systems through innovative solutions and rigorous adherence to federal and FAA-specific standards. The position involves collaboration with FAA system engineers, system owners, and solution providers to evaluate, design, and implement cybersecurity architectures, while providing project oversight for technical refreshes and system integration efforts. You will also support the adoption of emerging technologies, such as Zero Trust architecture and software-defined networking, to strengthen enterprise security. This is a highly impactful role in a dynamic, mission-driven environment with remote and hybrid work opportunities. \n Accountabilities: Provide cybersecurity engineering and architecture expertise across FAA telecommunications and infrastructure programs. Evaluate and recommend security solutions, ensuring compliance with federal and FAA-specific policies and standards. Support project management of system refreshes, migrations, and integrations to maintain NAS security and reliability. Collaborate with FAA system engineers, solution providers, and stakeholders to streamline security processes and system migration. Review and advise on vendor-proposed network and security architecture solutions and contract deliverables. Lead assessments of emerging technologies such as Zero Trust Architecture, Software-Defined Networking, and security orchestration. Provide guidance and coordination across multiple stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment with leadership priorities. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or a related field with 15 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience with FAA systems, policies, and security standards, particularly for NAS-critical operations. Proficiency in NIST, FISMA, and FIPS compliance frameworks. Strong project management skills with experience coordinating among multiple stakeholders and communicating with senior leadership. Expertise in cybersecurity architecture, including defense-in-depth strategies and emerging technologies. Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong relationship-building abilities. Active CISSP certification preferred.
