Senior Facilities Engineer - Australia Company: Boeing Aerospace Operations Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for a Facilities Engineer to join our team in Alice Springs, Australia. This position will lead all aspects of facility operations to drive high-reliability and to continuously implement industry leading O&M methodologies and technologies. Directly focused on support of facility infrastructure, i.e. resilient power distribution, cooling systems, facility management/industrial control systems, etc. Please note that this position does not include responsibilities for data management or data center rack operations. This is a long-term assignment to Australia, subject to business conditions and individual performance. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international relocation will be provided. Position Responsibilities: Maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical and mechanical equipment, facilities, components, or systems for data center operations Responsible for providing organizational leadership and technical oversight to facility operations and maintenance teams Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by coordinating installation, construction, maintenance, documentation, support/testing activities Engaged in final commissioning of facility to ensure required capabilities to meet customer requirements Responsible for maintaining facility electrical and mechanical infrastructure in a newly constructed data center Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by coordinating installation, construction, maintenance, documentation, support/testing activities Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation Working with a variety of technicians Accountable for maintaining budget, identifying, justifying and implementing capital expenditures Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 3+ years’ experience as an engineer in operation and/or maintenance Proven leader of Facility O&M teams Ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) polygraph pre-start Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Experience working with U.S. Government customer Uptime Institute Certification Adjudicated Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) polygraph Ex-Pat Information: Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned.
