Clinical and FUSIC Fellowship (50:50)
This posts offers an opportunity to develop expertise in FUSIC with 50:50 clinical and FUSIC fellowship commitments. Our department is enthusiastic about point-of-care ultrasound as an imaging modality for clinical care.
We have several accredited clinicians who will provide training and education in FUSIC Heart and Lung HD modules to complete Intensive Care Society (ICS) certification within six months.
We also have experience using point-of-care ultrasound for research, having completed a recent study of nebulised surfactant in covid pneumonitis.
In addition to 1:1 teaching, a weekly transthoracic echocardiography meeting is provided through our cardiology department, and we also run bi-monthly governance sessions internally.

We are looking to appoint a suitably experienced physician (ST3 level and above) to support ICU services at General Intensive Care Unit, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
The applicant must have previous experience in critical care medicine or anaesthetics and be competent in airway skills. You will be expected to work closely with their colleagues, the ICM or Anaesthetic Specialist Registrars and ACCPs to provide registrar level cover across the unit.
