Our department is the only tertiary centre in the region covering acute and elective services with a catchment area of 3 million across south and southwest of England.
You will be expected to perform the on-call duties in the neurosurgery department. The rota is well-supported with experienced nurse practitioners as well as junior doctors. There will be ample educational opportunities including theatre attendance, weekly teaching, monthly morbidity and mortality meetings as well as clinics and MDTs.
The post is to work alongside our ‘run through’ neurosurgery trainees and be treated equitably. An educational supervisor will be provided and regular assessments and appraisal carried out so that the post can contribute to evidence for CESR. While the post is initially being offered a 12 month contract we would look to extend the post if appropriate.
