JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Field Application Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our team’s success, combining your deep domain expertise with leadership responsibilities. This position encompasses the responsibilities of both FAS I and FAS II roles, and goes beyond to include additional leadership and strategic tasks. You will lead by example, ensuring continuity and excellence in our operations. Beyond your field application experience, you will be at the forefront of resolving complex customer issues, mentoring and guiding junior team members, and driving innovative solutions in our R&D efforts. Your proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, coupled with your exceptional communication skills, will foster strong customer relationships and contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from developing application-specific protocols and optimizing instrument performance to training teams and representing us at key industry events. Your ability to think innovatively and solve problems creatively will be invaluable as we navigate challenges and pursue new opportunities in our field. A Senior FAS must gain proficiency in four or more cross-functional products.

EDUCATION:

  • Must have a BA/BS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or similar subject.
  • Preferred:
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a similar subject.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 or more years of scientific laboratory experience.
  • 5 or more years of field application experience (analytical instrumentation, laboratory automation, electronics, mechanical engineering, or computers is highly desirable).
  • Experience in high throughput lab environments is a plus.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with standard laboratory software/interfaces (Microsoft Excel, Word, Vendor Supplied/Custom Developed LIS).
  • Excellent customer interaction skills, verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organizational abilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred to have a Master’s or Doctorate’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or similar subject.
  • Up to 50%-75% domestic and international travel may be required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
  • Visual acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens.
  • Hearing ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
  • Working conditions – The employee is subject to a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting the manufacturing floor.
  • Capable of wearing appropriate related PPE for extended periods of time.
  • Driver’s License required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
    The salary range for this role is $110,000-$120,000.
