About the role Join us as a Senior Field Service Engineer (Mill Specialist) and play a critical role in supporting world-class cement operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond. In this dynamic, travel-intensive role, you will be at the forefront of delivering hands-on technical expertise for Vertical Roller Mills (VRM) and Ball Mills—driving performance, reliability, and customer success on-site. You will lead installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities for advanced milling technologies, including Fuller (formerly FLSmidth) mills such as ATOX, OK vertical mills, Fuller Roller Mills, and Ball Mill systems (or similar equipment). Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you will collaborate closely with plant teams, contractors, and global engineering experts to resolve complex challenges, minimize downtime, and optimize operational efficiency. About the department The EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Pyro and Grinding Service Execution Team is a highly specialized and agile unit responsible for delivering end-to-end mechanical service support across the region. The team executes a wide range of critical field activities, including troubleshooting, installation, inspections, and maintenance of key cement plant equipment. Operating in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment, the department is structured to respond with speed, precision, and flexibility to evolving operational needs. Strong collaboration—both within the team and with customers—is at the core of its success, enabling the delivery of tailored solutions that ensure reliability, efficiency, and sustained plant performance. Your Responsibilities : Primary Duties & Responsibilities Conduct technical inspections and site assessments prior to mill installation Oversee and supervise equipment installation, alignment, and assembly at customer plant sites Perform start-up and commissioning of new mill/grinding systems and related components Conduct performance testing and validation against technical specifications Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports documenting activities, observations, and corrective actions Train customer personnel on proper operation and emergency procedures during the start-up phase Team Support & Knowledge Transfer Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior field service engineers and contractors Support training and onboarding of new field service personnel Contribute technical expertise to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements Share field experience and customer insights with engineering and product development teams Participate in technical forums and continuous learning activities Safety & Compliance Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, local regulations, and company policies Conduct risk assessments prior to work execution and implement appropriate safety measures Consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe work practices on site Report all incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns to management promptly Comply with local environmental regulations and site-specific requirements You Bring Minimum 6–8 years of hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, or commissioning of industrial grinding equipment Demonstrated expertise with mill/grinding systems in cement, grinding, or similar heavy industrial plants Experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair of rotating machinery and industrial equipment Hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in industrial environments Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline (Diploma with equivalent experience and a strong track record may be considered) Technical certifications in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or equipment commissioning are an advantage Strong problem-solving skills combined with effective English communication abilities Ability to speak and communicate effectively in German, Spanish, or French is required or highly preferred As an equal opportunity employer, Fuller Technologies embraces diversity and equality by promoting an environment of inclusion.
