About the role
The Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for leading all cash flow and regulatory activities at an AGL Group level. This role will also be leading and assisting in planning and performance reporting activities in relation to management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, as well as continuous improvement to drive efficiency in existing processes.
What you’ll be doing

Cash Flow and Systems

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of Cash Flow and Balance Sheet reporting for external reporting, internal management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Drive continuous improvement to more efficiently deliver Cash Flow and Balance Sheet.
  • Lead partnering and co-ordinate with the Heads of CPIP in the preparation and delivery of all Cash Flow reporting activities as part of budget and reforecast cycles.
  • Lead and owner of funds appropriation in SAP Investment Management node, monitoring and oversight across AGL Energy Capital expenditure.

Planning, Analysis and Reporting

  • Lead and assist in the delivery of AGL Energy annual budget, four-year plan and quarterly forecasts.
  • Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve, automate and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes and improve the reporting of financial information to management.
  • Lead partnering, preparation and consolidation of biannual regulatory reporting for external purposes.
  • Lead partnering with the Head of Capital Investment Risk Committee (CIRC) and assist in the preparation and delivery of CIRC reporting activities as part of budget and reforecast cycles.

Half-year and Full-year Reporting

  • Assist the preparation of AGL Energy half-year and full-year reporting requirements for external stakeholders, including the OFR, Investor Pack and supplementary data and analysis.
  • Assist in analysing AGL Energy progress towards a range of market targets and initiatives.

Finance Initiatives and Ad-hoc Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reporting including the delivery of the Group Performance Report and Business Performance Reports.
  • Provide appropriate specialist input to support key finance and business initiatives.
  • Add value by acting with key stakeholders’ interest in mind, establishing and maintaining effective relationships, gaining trust and respect.
  • Assist the broader AGL Energy FP&A team on an as required basis.

What you’ll bring to the table

  • CPA/CA qualified, with a minimum 5-6 years’ experience in a group reporting role
  • Demonstrated experience in providing financial analysis within a complex business
  • Extensive cashflow, group reporting and financial modelling experience
  • Board paper writing experience highly desirable (though not essential)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex problems, identify issues, think laterally and apply analytical, qualitative and research techniques to develop appropriate strategies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, confident engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Works collaboratively with others and builds and maintains strong team relationships
