Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Finance support for the Locomotive Products division
• Financial closing process and ensuring US GAAP and Wabtec policy compliance
• Account reconciliation process, driving towards no unreconciled balances
• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring they accurately reflect the company’s financial position
• Assist with standard cost roll and physical inventory
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any findings promptly
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and manage financial risks effectively

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Certifications in accounting or finance can be beneficial. Audit experience preferred.
• Accounting Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, such as staff accountant, financial analyst, or senior accountant.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with Oracle and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or BI. One Stream/HFM experience is beneficial.
• Problem-solving profile.
• Financial Analysis: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial transactions and documentation.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and workflow processes.

What will your typical day look like?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: on-site

• Accounting Closing: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform and oversee regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Audit Process: Lead the audit process, coordinating with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation, and addressing any findings promptly.
• Intercompany Transactions Reconciliation: Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization.
• Accounts Receivable: Responsible for monitoring AR balances with customers and communication on past dues as needed. This role will also involve daily correspondence with external contracted cash application/billing/collections team (TCS).
• Fixed Assets: Monthly reconciliation of CIP, capitalization and retirement of assets and fixed asset inventory.
• Accounts Payable: This position serves as a backup for AP processing.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
• Other duties as needed.
