JOB DESCRIPTION:

The position is responsible for the strategic analysis, advice and financial reporting in support of TD Securities (TDS) initiatives. The position acts as a primary contact for financial advice and analysis to the TDS Infrastructure business and its partners. Additionally, the role requires key analysis, process automation, and ad-hoc reporting to support our stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Preparation of monthly management reports, variance analysis with emphasis on report adaptation, automation and documentation based on changing needs and priorities.
  • Participate in developing/implementing new frameworks to enhance ongoing reporting and analysis for the business on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Extract critical pieces of information and understand key business drivers in order to communicate the financial results and key messages to management.
  • Participate in the preparation of forecast and annual plan for TDS expenses and FTE in collaboration with business partners.
  • Work closely with internal business partners in Front office, Infrastructure and TD Cowen Finance to provide insights on expenses.
  • Continuously improve processes and documentation while ensuring compliance to internal TDS expense policies for all expense approval requests.
  • Work closely with all finance groups to ensure accuracy of financial information.
  • Position requires strong analytical, financial modelling skills to provide high level financial analysis and value-added insight to business partners
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with key business, finance and other stakeholders and effectively communicate/storytell relevant, meaningful recommendations to senior management
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced and demanding environment that requires meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven track record of implementing value-added process improvements to increase shareholder value. Experience with Tableau and Alteryx is an asset

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent analytical skills in assessing risk, issues and challenging the status quo
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s financial reporting system (i.e., Knowledge of Hyperion and prior experience in running Hyperion queries is preferred)
  • Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remain objective to reach the right outcome
  • Ability to stay resilient under pressure
  • Expertise in working effectively in teams – requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills, and a strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
  • Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Proven ability to work effectively with large data sets is an asset, along with knowledge of tools such as Tableau and Alteryx

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree would be an asset
  • Professional Accreditation such as CPA/CFA/MBA would be an asset
