    Reporting to the Finance Manager Financial Control, this role is a 14-month fixed term maternity cover for an existing team member within the Financial Control team who is about to go on parental leave.
    Mō te tūranga | About the Role
    The Financial Control team is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, analysis and reporting of financial performance mainly focused on month-end.

As Senior Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of finance results and commentary for the business, including month end journals.
  • Working with the Business Unit Managers to monitor and report performance and forecast.
  • Ensuring accuracy and data integrity of both month-end balance sheet and profit & loss.
  • Preparation of financial results and commentary for the business where required.
  • Understand, apply, and monitor the application of technical accounting concepts to ensure accurate and timely reflection of business financial performance.
  • Deliver the findings and recommendations of financial analysis in a professional, relevant and insightful way that develops understanding and inspires confidence for decision makers.
  • Share knowledge and develop relationships with direct and wider Finance teams, Finance Managers and Business Partners, Westpac Group, and the wider Bank for customer, risk and product information.
  • Mentor junior staff members and support peers, Finance Managers and Finance Business Partners.

You will possess:

  • Strong Accounting and GL knowledge
  • Advanced excel skills
  • University qualification
  • Be CAANZ qualified (or equivalent) – or working towards
  • 3-5 years’ previous financial services or listed company experience (preferred).
