COMPANY OVERVIEW:

A well-established credit-focused asset management firm, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its finance team in Boston. The firm manages over $75 billion in assets across a range of credit strategies. This role offers the chance to join a fast-paced and high-performing team responsible for overseeing a complex and expanding portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review fund NAVs, investor statements, and financial reports produced by third-party administrators for accuracy and compliance with governing documents
  • Oversee and validate fund-level calculations including fees, expenses, and performance allocations
  • Collaborate with external partners such as auditors and tax professionals to ensure timely reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Partner with internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Investor Relations, and Investment groups) to streamline accounting and operational processes
  • Maintain internal reporting tools and documentation related to capital activity and valuation events
  • Assist in reviewing capital calls and distributions prior to investor release
  • Monitor investment activity, cash flows, and support the analysis of complex investment restructurings
  • Manage audit timelines and facilitate information sharing during internal and external audit processes
  • Continuously improve internal processes and documentation to support fund operations

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in public accounting or fund administration (Big 4 experience is a plus)
  • CPA designation or active progress toward certification preferred
  • Strong grasp of U.S. GAAP, especially in the context of investment fund reporting
  • Experience with debt instruments and structured products; prior exposure to private equity or hedge funds is advantageous
  • Familiarity with partnership accounting and complex fund structures; knowledge of fund tax considerations is beneficial
  • Proficient in accounting systems such as Investran, Geneva, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Excel capabilities; working knowledge of PowerPoint for reporting purposes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Compensation: Base salary up to $125K + 25% bonus
