ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner – Retail Operations to join our dynamic Finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Retail Finance. You’ll support over 400 Halfords retail stores and our outsourced Customer Care team of 400+ colleagues, working closely with senior management to deliver actionable financial insight that drives performance.
With the majority of our trade flowing through stores, this is a high-profile role with daily exposure to senior retail leadership. You’ll be a trusted partner, using your financial expertise to support new initiatives, continuous improvements, and strategic decision-making across the store estate and Customer Care division.
As we evolve to meet our customers’ changing needs, your work will be vital in ensuring a consistent customer journey and maximising financial return.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide dedicated support to the Operations Director as a Senior Finance Business Partner.
• First Class business partnering support for all levels within Retail Operations including Customer Care operation.
• People leadership of a Business Partner and Analyst, including prioritisation of day-to-day activities, setting objectives that align to finance and overall business objectives and ongoing development and support.
• Financial responsibility of store and contact centre controllable costs, including overseeing the team’s month end processes, and ensuring robust governance is in place for tight cost control.
• Delivery of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities and ensuring alignment, in particular of store payroll with the overall Retail strategy and trading expectations
• Drive business performance by reviewing weekly KPIs and providing analysis and insight into areas of underperformance.
• Deliver robust trial and test performance evaluations utilising financial analysis coupled with non-financial measures to provide clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Delivery of investment appraisals for development of key strategic initiatives with ongoing support in tracking performance and opex and capex spend.
