 leading international technology business is seeking an Accounting Lead - DACH to take ownership of accounting activities across the DACH region.This is a key role within the European Finance function, responsible for ensuring accurate reporting, statutory compliance and strong financial controls across the region. You will manage core accounting processes, oversee audit activities and provide technical expertise across IFRS and German GAAP.

The role also includes day-to-day leadership responsibility for a Junior Accountant, providing guidance, support and development while working closely with wider European Finance teams.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the month-end close process for DACH entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements.
  • Manage statutory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate external audits and act as a key point of contact for auditors.
  • Work closely with tax advisors and internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise across IFRS and German GAAP.
  • Support improvements to accounting processes, controls and reporting standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to a Junior Accountant, helping develop their technical skills and ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Shared Services and the wider European Finance team.


About YouYou are an experienced accounting professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to take ownership of regional accounting responsibilities in a multinational environment.

  • You will ideally have:A professional accounting qualification (e.g. Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Around 5-10 years' post-qualified experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across an international organisation.
