Introduction
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager who is looking to shift direction and gain an enhanced work life balance. Galmere Fresh Food Ltd. is an innovative Irish manufacturing company whom since it was established in 1989, has become a leading food manufacturer for domestic and export markets. This is a part-time office- role based in Galway working the initial two weeks of each calendar month.
Purpose of the role
Appointee will be a member of the management team at Galmere Foods responsible for the inhouse finance function with a team of two reporting to them. Contributing to the business by providing a high standard of Financial Management expertise, in line with best practice and legislation they will ensure that finance goals and activities are aligned with business initiatives and requirements, contributing effectively to the company’s strategy and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: take responsibility for the financial management function ensuring it delivers fully on its key role in the business. Includes but not limited to production of monthly management accounts, timely budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost control and optimal allocation of finance resources.
  • Develop the finance function: Constantly develop and pursue enhanced performance to include digitalisation projects to increase efficiency, manage costs and improve company decisions.
  • Leadership: grow and develop the finance team and be an active member of the overall business Leadership Team supporting the CEO at all times.
  • Relationship Management – ensure strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders are maintained at all times
  • Project Management: Lead and manage financial projects and financial aspect of business wide projects, contributing to their completion on time, with accuracy and within budget.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and plans for the business.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Education:

o Qualified member of a recognised Accounting bodies ACA, ACCA, CIMA

o Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a busy industry environment

  • Technical Skills: should include have:

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Financial Management System, and a full working knowledge of SAP with an ability to maximise IT usage in the finance function.
o Full understanding of financial systems / tools, accounting principles, reporting, tax planning, budgeting / forecasting with ability to interpret and react to trends. Working knowledge of current and imminent Irish legislation.
o Ability to drive digital initiatives in a finance environment.
o Strong skills in influencing and relationship building with all stakeholders.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

o Strong attention to detail and appreciation of timelines.

  • Leadership: should have a proven ability to

o Develop positive working relationships with all colleagues, encouraging open communications and a collaborative approach.
o Lead and develop small finance team with ability to liaise with HR in design and implementation of effective finance function performance management system.
o Build and foster all external relationships with such parties as Bankers, Government & Industry bodies.

o Play a proactive and supportive role as part of the Business Leadership team

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic planning abilities, and strong proficiency in risk management.
