JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Finance Manager at FLINT, you will be a strategic business partner to the Finance department. Based out of our Calgary office the role entails managing financial processes, providing analytical insights, and ensuring compliance with financial controls while fostering a culture of financial accountability within the organization.

CORE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Professional Designation in Accounting or Finance CPA/CFA
  • 5-10 years of experience in financial planning & analysis / commercial finance function.
  • Demonstrated experience working as an FP&A/commercial finance leader.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Superior spreadsheet and database skills.
  • High proficiency in building financial models for business cases and commercial arrangements.
  • Impeccable spreadsheet and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills:
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent use of logic in analyzing financial data.
  • Excellent commercial finance knowledge with a proven application in complex corporate environments.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Strong leadership skills with a big picture approach to tasks.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics in concise explanations.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to provide valuable insights into the company’s financial performance, identifying trends and generating reports that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Performance Enhancement Recommendations:
  • Based on analysis, provide recommendations for improvements, which may include suggesting changes to processes, cost-cutting measures, or strategies to enhance overall business performance.
  • Collaborative Partnership with Commercial/BD and Operations:
  • Work closely with sales and operations leaders to craft commercially viable terms for contracts, ensuring alignment with financial goals and operational objectives.
  • Strategic Contract Design:
  • Take the lead in collaboration with the commercial team in designing financial contract terms with a focus on financial competitive advantages, ensuring agreements are advantageous for the company while maintaining positive relationships with partners.
  • Business Case Development for Investments:
  • Develop compelling business cases for new investments and initiatives, leveraging comprehensive financial analysis, risk assessments, and persuasive presentations to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Advanced Financial Modeling and Template Creation:
  • Maintain and create models and templates for Rate Build and Cash Curves in the bidding process, demonstrating proficiency in financial modeling for business cases and commercial arrangements.
