ABOUT MARSHMALLOW

We build financial products that accelerate the economic freedom for people who move across borders. We started with car insurance — insuring over a million drivers — and we’re scaling beyond. Tens of millions of people move countries each year, facing overlooked financial challenges. Our future is in building financial products around their needs to positively impact their lives.

THE FINANCE TEAM

We’re here to make sure Marshmallow can achieve its growth into new markets and products. To do that, we’re building the finance team of the future by arming ourselves with the best processes and data-powered tools in the industry! We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager (Controllership) to build a high-performing finance reporting team. Reporting to the Group Finance Controller, you will play a critical role in leading and driving high performance within the Group Finance team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 2-3 qualified and part-qualified accountants, driving a high performance culture that is focussed on continuous improvement.
  • Manage the month-end close process including group consolidation and ensuring financial information is compliant with UK GAAP and local accounting standards as applicable.
  • Manage the year-end process including preparation of statutory accounts and coordination of the external audit process.
  • Manage submission of relevant tax and regulatory returns.
  • Oversee finance operations including accounts payables and day-to-day cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to provide commentary for management accounts and financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing development of financial reporting policies, processes and controls to manage key finance risks.
  • Drive continuous improvements and lead Finance transformation initiatives.
  • Support on ad-hoc projects as required.
