ABOUT YOU AND YOUR SKILLS

As a Senior Finance Manager, you’ll have extensive experience in commercial finance leadership roles, ideally within the liquor space or retail/FMCG. You will have experience in business transformation, keen to roll up your sleeves and dive deep into the strategy as we embark on bold transformations within Liquor. You’ll also be experienced in fact-driven, data-led storytelling with senior stakeholders to ensure outcomes are clearly understood, measurable, and change is communicated.

You will also ideally have;

  • CA/CPA qualification, MBA or equivalent desirable
  • Developing and managing high-performance finance teams
  • Driving organizational change and influencing key business partners
  • Strategic business planning and direction setting
  • A diverse finance background covering financial control, reporting, planning & analysis, and commercial partnering
  • Extensive exposure in a retail and/or FMCG environment

Responsibilities

Coles Liquor is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the finance team that supports the Liquor Operations and Supply Chain teams. The successful candidate will provide strategic, commercial decision support and governance to the General Manager of Operations & Supply Chain and their leadership team. You will play a key role in ensuring business unit strategies and initiatives meet annual budget targets, improve EBIT efficiencies, and enhance working capital.
Please note that this role is a 12-month fixed term contract, parental leave cover.

You will also;

  • Leading and mentoring a team of three: two business analysts and one finance business partner
  • Driving improvements in commercial KPIs such as optimizing loss rates, store labour rates to sales, waste and markdowns, availability, and working capital
  • Managing cross-functional relationships to provide business partners with the necessary tools
  • Establishing and maintaining an effective weekly forecasting process to drive accountability for sales and profit performance
  • Preparing annual plans, quarterly forecasts, and corporate plans for the business unit
  • Driving the strategic agenda for the Liquor Operations & Supply Chain teams, ensuring all elements of the Corporate Plan are executed on time and within budget
