About the RoleWe're recruiting a Senior Finance Manager for a growing Funds Management firm in Private Markets. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the CFO - a genuine leadership opportunity in a fast-scaling business.You'll own the financial control and fund accounting function, leading a team to ensure accurate, timely reporting and maintain the integrity of the fund's books as it grows. It's hands-on, strategic, and central to how the business runs.
What You'll Do• Lead the Financial Control and Fund Accounting team• Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes; manage fund valuations and reporting• Build and refine finance processes and controls as the firm scales• Partner directly with the CFO on financial strategy, forecasting, and stakeholder reporting• Manage relationships with external service providers (auditors, custodians, administrators)• Drive continuous improvement in finance operations and systems• Contribute to broader business initiatives alongside the exec team
What We're Looking For• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent professional accounting qualification)• 10+ years in Finance, with 3+ years in a leadership or senior management capacity• Experience working across Private Markets, ideally credit ideal• Financial Control and/or Financial Reporting experience (ideal)—you've owned these functions before• Expertise in fund accounting and financial controls• Solid grasp of superannuation/pension fund structures (a real plus)• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams• Hands-on—comfortable with both strategy and the detail work• Strong stakeholder management; clear communicatorDesirable:• Experience in smaller, growth-stage fund management businesses• Familiarity with fund administration systems or fintech• Direct experience scaling finance teams from scratch
