About your new role!Reporting directly into senior leadership, you will take ownership of the Australian finance function while providing leadership, direction and development to a team of three.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the preparation and review of Australian corporate tax returns and broader taxation compliance, including GST, BAS, FBT, payroll tax and withholding tax
- Manage transfer pricing requirements, international dealings and related-party transactions
- Partner with external tax advisers and auditors and manage responses to ATO reviews and information requests
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
- Develop financial models and provide commercial analysis to support pricing, investment and strategic business decisions
- Analyse profitability, working capital, cash flow and business performance, providing meaningful insights to senior leadership
- Partner with operational leaders across the business to improve financial and commercial performance
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting and ensure strong statutory accounting and compliance
- Review management reporting and board reporting packs
- Maintain a strong internal control and risk management framework and coordinate internal and external audits
- Oversee statutory lodgements and support broader corporate governance and legal entity requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate finance processes, including through the ERP system
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of three finance professionals
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and best practice across the finance function
About you!
We are looking for a CA or CPA qualified finance professional with a strong technical accounting foundation and proven experience across both financial accounting and FP&A.
You will ideally bring:
- 6+ years' experience across accounting and finance, including at least 1-2 years in a finance management capacity
- Strong Australian taxation experience, including corporate tax and transfer pricing
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial or distribution environments is highly regarded, particularly exposure to costing and manufacturing accounting
- Strong statutory accounting and financial reporting experience
- Proven FP&A capability across budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and business partnering
- Experience working within a multinational or large corporate environment
- Strong understanding of controls, compliance and corporate governance
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the wider business
- A hands-on and collaborative leadership style, with the ability to develop and motivate a team
