About the Department The Operations Department manages DNDi’s corporate infrastructure globally across eight locations through its Business Development, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems and Technology, Legal Affairs, and Project Management Office teams. The Department plays a central role in DNDi’s compliance and performance Overview The Senior Finance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity and operational excellence across DNDi's South Asia and Southeast Asia offices. This position leads kep accounting and compliance processes, supports strategic budgeting and ensures timely and accurate financial reporting to enable informed decision-making. The Senior Finance Officer, as part of DNDi’s Global Accounting Hub – Asia, is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant execution of all centralized accounting processes for DNDi offices worldwide. This role is pivotal in driving standardization, efficiency, and quality across global finance operations, supporting robust internal controls, and enabling continuous process improvement. The position also plays a key role in fostering collaboration with in-country finance teams, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and supporting the achievement of organizational KPIs and strategic objectives. Responsibilities Accounting and reporting 90% Depending on the work location: Make entries in Business Central and Tally, respecting projects code, accounting codes and accounting guidelines in and the region. in the monthly closing tasks. Assist Finance Manager for yearly revision of the Indian accountancy ensuring coherence with Business Central. Ensuring that company policies are complied with before processing any invoices for payment. Manage cash and bank, prepare cash reconciliation on weekly basis and bank reconciliation on monthly basis. Support in making Cash requests from head office under supervision of Finance Manager Manage advance accounts of South Asia office staff. Ensure compliance with For the Indian Foundation entity, ensure additional compliance for FCRA in terms of accounting Execute and oversee end-to-end accounting processes, including invoice processing, expense claims, credit card reconciliations, payment file generation, and vendor data management for all DNDi offices. Upload payments on bank portals and make cash payment according to DNDi’s financial policies before due date. Management of electronic banking processes for all regional offices, including payment initiation, monitoring, and reconciliation.Ensure transparency and timely resolution of discrepancies. Partner with Finance Manager in India/Malaysia and Geneva HQ on global initiatives. Collaborate closely with global finance teams to prepare year-end accounts closing activity, resolve issues, address queries, and drive continuous process improvements. Application of invoices with payment entries. Manage vendors accounts reconciliation. Processing and managing payroll in compliance with local laws. Assist in Budget process Maintaining Fixed Assets records and inventory register. Work on audit requirements: internal, statutory and donor.. Ensure strict adherence to DNDi’s internal controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks. Maintain and regularly update process documentation and manuals to support standardization and knowledge sharing across the global finance team. Supporting the global team in various initiatives and providing support in accounting if needed. Act as back-up to other finance team members of the Accounting hub Contribute to process improvements and ERP optimization. Ensure access to and effective use of all required systems and tools (e.g., Business Central, Salesforce, SharePoint, translation tools), and participate in relevant training (e.g., deductible withholding tax). Contribute to the achievement and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Global Accounting Hub, supporting regular performance reviews and process audits. Administration 10% depending on the duty station Ensure timely payment of monthly utility bills (e.g. telephone, mobile, electricity, water, internet etc.) Maintain files for Annual Maintenance Contract Assist Head of Operations or Finance Manager in local procurement. Reporting line & Interactions Reporting line Senior Finance Officer will report to the Finance Manager Interactions Works with Finance team, and other departments Liaise with external vendors and partners on routine matters. Ensure tasks are coordinated and implemented according to plans. Experience and Education First university degree (Bachelor level) in the field of finance and accounting. Post-graduate diploma is preferred. At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and matrix structure Experience working in multiple entity structure is preferred. Proven track record in processing invoices in compliance with local laws and company policies Desirable to have experience in international Non for-Profit Organization Skills and competencies Critical Skills Strong foundational skills in the relevant area of expertise Ability to take directions, work independently, and complete tasks within deadlines Analytical, organisational, and communication skills. Ability to manage priorities across multiple locations. Technical Skills Microsoft excel- good understanding of MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). ERP System- Understanding of Business Central (preferred), Tally is a plus . Experience of working with an organization with FCRA approvals is preferred.
