About the client

Our client is a private equity-backed organisation undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation. Through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, they have built a complex multi-entity business with ambitious plans for continued growth.

With finance playing a critical role in supporting that journey, they are looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join their Sydney-based finance team.

About the role

This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to move beyond a traditional reporting role and gain exposure to the commercial challenges that come with a high-growth, acquisition-led business.

Working closely with an experienced finance leadership team, you'll play an integral role in delivering group reporting, supporting acquisitions, improving finance processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple entities.

You'll gain exposure to projects that extend well beyond the month-end close, working within an environment where change is constant and no two months look the same.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and group reporting across multiple entities
• Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Prepare statutory financial statements and assist with external audit requirements
• Support acquisition accounting, entity integrations and group consolidations
• Assist with technical accounting matters, including compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
• Drive process improvements, strengthen financial controls and contribute to finance transformation initiatives
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to deliver financial insights and support strategic decision-making

About you

This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to broaden their experience within a growing organisation.

You may be making your first move from Big 4 or Mid Tier into industry, or already be working in a commercial accounting role and looking for greater complexity, ownership and long-term progression.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
• 3–6 years' experience within a Big 4, Mid Tier or commercial accounting environment
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and month-end processes
• Exposure to statutory reporting and technical accounting principles
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work across multiple stakeholders
• A proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment
