Senior Financial Accountant

Ready to move from being one of many in a big finance team to actually owning the numbers?

We're recruiting for a fast-growing business that's scaling quickly and needs a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant. This isn't a role where you'll be siloed into one narrow function. You'll be across month-end close, hands-on AP/AR, and genuinely shaping how the finance team operates as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as right-hand support to the Finance Lead, bridging management and the wider team
• Collaborate with the AP/AR function across close cycles, keeping accruals, billing, revenue recognition, payroll journals and asset reconciliations accurate and on track
• Owning month-end close - reconciliations, journals, reporting
• Getting hands-on with AP/AR and fixing process gaps as you find them
• Driving process improvements in a fast-paced, still-evolving environment
• Be the go-to contact for external auditors and run the annual audit process
• Support budgeting and forecasting, adding commentary that helps stakeholders make sense of the numbers
• Supporting BAS/IAS, GST and FBT lodgements
• Mentoring junior or outsourced team members

What We're Looking For:

• Recent, hands-on AP/AR experience - not just oversight
• Solid all-round accounting background (month-end, reconciliations, statutory reporting)
• A proactive self-starter who's comfortable in a smaller, less structured environment
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
• Experience driving process improvements or supporting system/ERP upgrades
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards it (not essential - mindset matters more)
