Job Description MISSION : The Senior Financial Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting across the insurance business. This role involves managing various accounting functions, regulatory submissions, financial analysis, and business partnering, while staying abreast of evolving standards such as AASB 17 and IFRS. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential accountabilities for the role you are Maintain financial objectives: Ensure month end and quarter end close processes are completed in a timely manner, including consolidation and financial reports Review statutory financial statements in accordance with AASB and IFRS. Ensure GL accounts are reconciled monthly Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process Compliance & Audit: Ensure timely and accurate submission of APRA and ASIC regulatory reports Complete other statutory reports and submit to the relevant authorities on time Manage group and local tax reporting Coordinate annual audit processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal control frameworks Team & business partnering Coordinate and liaise with regional offices and head office on various financial matters, ensuring the accuracy and quality of financial information Communicate relevant financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders Provide guidance to junior finance staff Systems, processes, and project support: Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and practices to improve processes Assist the head of finance on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives Qualifications ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: University degree qualified, CA/CPA. 5-8 years’ practical experience in statutory accounting and local taxation regulation; any experience in financial/ insurance industry and/or multinational company/Big 4 is a plus Strong problem solving and analytical skills Self-motivated, positive team player and ability to take on project work when required Process-oriented, proven ability to drive process improvements and uphold compliance standards. Good interpersonal skills, adept at engaging stakeholders across diverse regions and functions Excellent communication skills - proficiency (written and spoken) in English; Advanced user of Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
