SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3-4 year’s experience
  • Formal qualifications in accounting essential (e.g. Tertiary degree or equivalent completed)
  • Completion or working towards CA/CPA or equivalent
  • Experience in taxation related areas, such as FBT, Income Tax, GST and Payroll Tax
  • Experience in the travel industry either finance or operations is desirable, but not essential
  • Minimum intermediate level experience in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with SAP Business One and Tramada system or similar accounting / travel package is desirable, but not essential
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to consistently deliver a high level of customer service and develop and maintain ongoing relationships with customers and colleagues
Responsibilities

The role of Senior Financial Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller. This role will work with the Finance leadership team to prepare monthly financial reports, end of month financial accounting and to improve overall Finance processes involving the Financial Accounting team.
The role is a central member of the corporate accounting team assisting the business in delivering excellence in customer service, innovation and return on investment whilst contributing to achieving our business strategies. The role will be responsible for the compliance of statutory requirements, preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, accounting records and other information, allowing senior management to make informed business decisions and thereby improve our profitability.
The role is also responsible for the continuous review and improvement of accounting processes, including interactions with other areas of the business and offshore outsourced team, to complete required workflows, to determine process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of team processes and automate and integrate wherever possible. The role will involve some management accounting tasks such as participation in budgeting and reporting activities when requested.
This role will also include engagement and working alongside offshore resources and assisting with exception resolution.
