Our Opportunity   Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.   Roster: Monday – Friday    The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, technical accounting analysis, and month-end processes to support accurate, timely, and compliant financial outcomes for Fortescue.   Working as part of a collaborative and high-performing finance team, this role provides expertise across statutory reporting, consolidations, joint venture accounting, and Australian accounting standards. The position works closely with senior leaders to provide financial insights that inform business decisions, while ensuring strong governance, process integrity, and alignment with Fortescue’s values. Key Responsibilities   Preparation of statutory financial reporting and interpretation and application of Australian accounting standards Preparation of technical accounting papers and corporate management reporting Joint venture accounting and reporting, and acquisition accounting Consolidation of group of subsidiaries, investments in associates and joint ventures Financial reporting for subsidiaries Facilitate monthly processes and balance sheet reconciliations Working closely with senior leaders to provide financial insight critical to decision-making Qualifications and Experience   CA/CPA qualification and strong understanding of IFRS and specifically Australian accounting standards Advanced Excel skills SAP including Group Reporting experience   Mining, energy and construction experience is desirable Joint venture accounting experience is desirable Dedication to work in a team environment Candidates looking to transition from professional services/audit are encouraged to apply.
