This motivates you What to do HERO Tech Center Germany GmbH is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team in Stephanskirchen. In this professional and engaging role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the integrity of our financial data, driving monthly closing processes, and providing critical insights to senior management. You will bridge the gap between day-to-day ledger management and strategic financial oversight, maintaining robust internal controls while supporting our budgeting and forecasting cycles. Please note that this position requires a consistent on-site presence, particularly during the initial probation period; therefore, we are prioritizing candidates who reside in the local or surrounding areas. General Ledger & Subledger Management: Oversee and perform the regular reconciliation of subledger accounts to the general ledger (Nebenbuchungen und Hauptbuchabstimmung) to ensure accuracy and data integrity. Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and compilation of comprehensive financial statements and reports in compliance with regulatory standards. Internal Controls & Risk Management: Evaluate and strengthen internal control frameworks. This includes conducting regular risk assessments and deep-dives into high-risk financial areas to safeguard company assets. Variance & Financial Analysis: Conduct deep-dive monthly balance sheet, P&L (GuV), and cash flow variance analyses. Identify and explain key budget-to-actual deviations to support operational decision-making. Budgeting & Management Support: Support the preparation, modeling, and consolidation of annual budgets and forecasts, structuring financial data for executive leadership review. Fixed Asset Accounting: Maintain, update, and reconcile the fixed asset register ($Anlagenverzeichnis$) to ensure accurate depreciation and reporting. Skills you bring with you Education: Bachelor’s degree required; a specialized degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field is highly preferred. Advanced Qualifications: A Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or a professional certification such as a CPA (or local equivalent like Bilanzbuchhalter / Wirtschaftsprüfer) is a strong plus. Experience: Proven track record in a senior accounting or financial reporting role, with strong exposure to both German and international accounting principles (if applicable). Analytical Mindset: Excellent capability to dissect complex financial data, with a sharp eye for internal control vulnerabilities. Tools & Systems: Proficiency in modern ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills. Languages: Fluent in German and professional proficiency in English (adjust based on your actual workplace needs).
