In this role you will work closely with the Financial Accounting Manager to provide advice on financial accounting and taxation to ensure industry best practice. In this role you’ll provide strategic advice to the wider finance teams regarding financial, tax and audit requirements to ensure all deadlines are met as part of external statutory and compliance audits. Please note this is a permanent opportunity based out of the Collins Street office. Key Responsibilities You’ll act as an escalation point for any questions regarding financials, tax and audit queries Ensure that the wider finance teams are compliance with relevant legislation policies and procedures to mitigate any risk to the business Be responsible for efficient and effective provisions of accuracy and timely around financial and accounting service Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, financial systems, and process improvements. Manage the Delegated Financial Authority (DFA) process and ensure team compliance with legislation, policies, and risk management frameworks. Prepare statutory financial reports, act as the primary contact for audits, and ensure accurate, on-time tax lodgements (BAS, FBT, etc.). Oversee month-end close processes, including balance sheets, cash flow reporting, bank reconciliations, and lease accounting (AASB 16). Manage fringe benefits tax (FBT), including preparing returns and advising internal stakeholders. Calculate employee entitlements and oversee treasury activities like cash flow modelling and bank account management. Support the Financial Reporting Manager in developing reporting frameworks and achieving departmental objectives. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Business or Accounting related discipline. Must be a full qualified member of CPA, CA or ACA. In-depth understanding of accounting standards You’ll have a strong background in Microsoft Excel Experience in the preparation and collation of financial information.
