Senior Financial Accountant | Melbourne

An Australian-owned energy provider is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join its growing Finance team and work closely with the Financial Controller and CFO.

This is a great opportunity for a CA/CPA-qualified accountant who wants to move beyond traditional financial accounting and play a key role in finance transformation, systems improvement and commercial decision-making.

• About the role:Own month-end reporting, financial reporting and the general ledger
• Lead statutory reporting, audit and technical accounting
• Manage revenue recognition and balance sheet integrity
• Lead cash flow forecasting and working capital reporting
• Strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance
• Drive process improvement, automation and ERP optimisation
• Partner with Commercial, Operations, IT and other key teams
• Mentor junior team members and act as a key deputy to the Financial Controller

• Suitability to the role:CA or CPA qualified
• 6–8+ years’ post-qualified experience
• Strong financial reporting and financial control background
• Advanced Excel and strong ERP systems experience
• Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience is advantageous
• Experience with finance transformation or process improvement
• Strong technical accounting, audit and statutory reporting skills
• Commercially minded, hands-on and comfortable working autonomously
• Someone looking to progress towards a future Finance Manager role
