About the role: Step into a key role within the RACQ Group Finance team, where you’ll deliver high-quality technical accounting expertise and produce accurate financial reporting for both internal leaders and statutory requirements. Reporting to the Manager, Group Finance, you’ll take ownership of complex accounting matters, contribute towards the preparation of the Group and subsidiary financial statements, and work closely with external auditors to resolve issues quickly and ensure full compliance with Australian Accounting Standards. This is a 12-month contract and full-time role. Partner with the wider business to support financial performance and deliver strong value for RACQ members. Provide technical accounting expertise across the Group Finance function, including preparing high quality management reports. Strengthen financial controls by supporting general ledger integrity, policy development, and effective end to end processes. Lead technical accounting analysis for complex transactions, support statutory reporting, and collaborate with external auditors to resolve issues promptly. Contribute to key initiatives and play an active role in improving systems, processes, and compliance across the organisation. About you: You’re a technically strong accounting professional who excels in navigating complex transactions and delivering accurate financial reporting aligned with Australian Accounting Standards. You’re confident preparing detailed accounting positions, supporting statutory financial statements, and working collaboratively with auditors to resolve issues efficiently. Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business, with 5–7 years’ relevant experience and CA qualification. Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, with proven ability to prepare technical accounting papers and exercise judgement on complex matters. Skilled in external audit support, advanced Excel reporting, and analysing large data sets to produce accurate, timely financial insights. Experienced in adopting emerging technologies (including AI and automation) to enhance financial processes, with strong communication, problem solving and multitasking abilities. Why join RACQ?
