• Our company is a leading retail organisation seeking an experienced, ambitious and results-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team.About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for a driven finance professional looking to take ownership of key accounting functions within a fast-paced, commercially focused organisation. The successful candidate will bring strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills, along with a proactive approach and the ability to build strong relationships across the business.You'll have the opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders, provide valuable financial insights and contribute to the ongoing success of a dynamic and growing organisation.Key Responsibilities:You will be responsible for financial accounting, lease accounting, inventory accounting, fixed asset accounting & compliance.
• Responsible for month-end close activities, preparing financial reports and provide support to the wider finance team
• Support local management and group reporting
• Provide financial insights and identify trends, risks and opportunities
• Partner with store operations, head office teams and senior stakeholders
• Proactively identify and address emerging financial and operational issues
• About YouCA or CPA qualification
• 3-5 years' experience in a similar financial accounting role
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 16 and Australian tax legislation
• Experience with lease management software and ERP systems
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end processes
• Proven financial modelling skills and advanced Excel capability
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to identify trends and solve problems
• High attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across finance, head office and operational teams
