With a meaningful FP&A element, this role offers exposure to budgeting, forecasting and commercial planning — perfect for someone looking to broaden beyond pure financial accounting. About the role - Mō te tūranga Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of critical finance processes while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be trusted to identify opportunities for improvement, drive change, and lift capability across the function. Key responsibilities include: Owning the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and efficiency Managing the general ledger, balance sheet integrity and reconciliations Preparing statutory financial statements in line with NZ IFRS Acting as business process owner for core finance processes Strengthening internal controls and supporting governance requirements Leading the year‑end audit process and acting as key contact for external auditors Playing a key role in budgeting and forecasting, bringing inputs together and supporting planning Supporting cashflow, working capital and treasury activities Identifying and implementing process improvement and automation opportunities What will you bring? – Ōu Pūkenga? This role will suit someone who is commercially curious, analytically strong, and motivated by making things better. Experience from a large, complex or well‑governed environment will be well regarded. Additionally, you’ll bring: CA/CPA qualification (or near completion) 3–5+ years’ experience in financial accounting, audit or a similar role Strong grounding in financial reporting, controls and accounting standards An analytical mindset, with the ability to see opportunities for change Confidence owning processes and improving how work gets done Solid Excel and finance systems capability Clear communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders Your Benefits - Ō Painga We look after our people.
