This Position reports to:
Business Controller- ELIP Distribution
As a Senior Financial Analyst, reporting to the Distribution Business Controller, you will be a part of the ELIP Finance/Accounting team supporting the Byhalia, MS, Phoenix, AZ, and Easton, PA sites. You will be responsible to perform support activities within General Accounting, Financial Analysis, Reporting & Consolidation in line with defined strategies, policies, and procedures.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide reliable and timely analysis of financial results, budget, and forecasts. Each day, you will support the ABB group management and other stakeholders at various organization levels in decision making processes. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting in the evaluation of the impact of strategic, financial, or other major investment decisions.
The work model for the role is ideally located near one of ABB’s Distribution Centers (Byhalia, MS; Easton, PA; or Phoenix, AZ) but would consider remote applicants with the ability to travel an estimated 25% (#LI-Remote).

Responsibilities

YOU WILL BE MAINLY ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Performing the analysis of the group’s financial results in your area of responsibility and coordinating the preparation of various management reports, including management performance reports, commentaries on financial statements, etc., on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Working with the reporting units and countries to follow-up on the inconsistencies noted on management reporting information.
  • Month end activities to include (but not limited to): account analyses, account reconciliations, journal entry creation, posting and review, inventory analyses, balance reconciliations.
  • Leading process improvement and cost saving initiatives to protect and increase the group’s profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields and minimum 6 years of experience in controlling or financial analysis, financial operations or internal controls
  • General accounting knowledge in financial statements, cashflow, inventories, reconciliations, and internal controls
  • Must have advanced proficiency with MS Office, particularly with Excel.
  • High motivation to work in dynamic environment with orientation towards process improvement/simplification with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and confidence in information produced adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Experience using multiple tools including SAP, ERPs, Power BI
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capability is required conducting financial analysis, effective problem solving and performing root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work in a collaborate team environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
  • Business oriented mindset to support team and business development.
