AGRIS Co-operative Ltd. Is looking for a motivated and detail oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Team. Work under the direction of the CFO as the Senior Financial Analyst, you are responsible for complete and accurate accounts for all assets, liabilities, equity and receipts and disbursements for AGRIS Co-operative and its Subsidiaries. Ensures that related accounting and control activities meet generally accepted accounting principles and are in line with sound financial control procedures. Leveraging all data points available develops recommendations and provides leadership in implementing processes to monitor quality and accuracy of information to guide the achievement of volume growth and contribute to profitability to create long term value for the farmer owners.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB:

  • University and or college degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required
  • 4 to 6 years experience in financial analysis, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. or equivalent experience.
  • Preference given for individuals working toward or holding a professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (i.e. advanced formulae, macro, VLOOKUP & pivot table).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Travel as required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and promote an exceptional customer experience at every interaction.
  • Responsible for the preparation, accuracy and distribution of all monthly and annual accounting reports and financial statements meeting deadlines in accordance with GAAP and provincial and federal regulations where applicable.
  • Responsible for the timely generation, review and distribution of selected reports such as sales, gross income, and inventory reports and detail/summary information.
  • Complete the inventory valuation functions and gross margin reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and patronage.
  • Review monthly financial results with management with perspective to interpret accounting information to better solve problems related to financial results, inventory control, services and contracts.
  • Participate in initiatives to enhance data automation and improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Recommend and monitor a system of internal controls for the protection and accurate accounting of assets, liabilities and equity.
  • Coordinate and assist with the annual external audit process.
  • Foster appropriate cross training focus and team perspective within the area and related support groups to enhance control, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Foster communication and co-operation with branch staff to improve and enhance the sharing of information and develop processes to enhance control, effectiveness, efficiency and reporting.
  • Mentor and participate in training of other members of accounting team and branch staff.
  • Understand and follow the Company’s health & safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
