SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST – FULL-TIME, PERMANENT – BARRIE, ON

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Simcoe County Branch seek a Senior Financial Analyst, who, in accordance with the agency’s policies, standards, and guidelines, is responsible for providing Senior Leadership with the financial analysis and information they need to make major operational, financial, and strategic decisions. This role will play a key part in budgeting and forecasting, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the organization’s objectives. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will provide key support to the Director of Finance by processing and analyzing financial data to support effective financial decision making across the organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree in Finance, Commerce or Business Administration with an Accounting or Finance Major; MBA is an asset.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (ACCA, CMA, CPA, CGA) in good standing is required.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive work experience in financial modelling, budgeting/forecasting and analysis, preferably in a not-for-profit sector.
  • Experience using GP Dynamics and Quadrant Workforce is an asset.
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation.
  • Fluency in French or another second language would be an asset.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

· In collaboration with the Director of Finance accountable for both internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to key funders and Program Directors.
· Coordinate, consult and collaborate to support year-end audit activities.
· Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting transactions, as well as cash flow management.
· Prepare reconciliations, complex journal entries, and review external funding and year-end audit reports.
· Responsible for year-end T3010 preparation and filing.
· Own the process for preparing financial models including scenario planning and forward-looking financial analysis to identify trends and support long-term strategic planning.
· Support development of annual plans/budgets and forecasts.
· Assist in gathering and evaluating business requirements on financial projects.
· Develop and improve various financial reports and KPIs.
· Informs department leaders of trends, issues and/or opportunities identified via analysis of key financial and operational data.
· Support initiatives for improving internal controls and processes.
· Identify issues and work closely with cross-functional teams to find solutions.
· Respond to financial requests and inquiries from various business areas.
· Manage ad hoc financial projects as needed.
