SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst- Accounting is primarily responsible for supporting the accounting of the Operational locations and any analytical aspects with the Canadian and US operations. This includes more complex components of the full accounting cycle and managing initial escalations from other team members. The Senior Financial Analyst, Accounting, will also be actively involved in the monthly/quarter/annual closing process.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of university degree in accounting or business
  • Accounting designation (CPA) completed or near completion.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive accounting experience
  • Commitment to continued education/training in leadership, finance, and accounting.
  • Work experience in the USA or Europe is an asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIREMENTS

  • This role is based out of our corporate office in Oakville, Ontario which is an open concept office
  • This is a hybrid role, working from the office 2/3 times per week

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimal

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in:

  • Knowledge of Full Accounting Cycle
  • Acquisition integration.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, accounting systems and an ability to learn new applications quickly
  • Knowledge of Dynamics accounting system is an Asset.
Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly / quarterly / year end closing process for the operational locations ensuring all accruals are recorded.
  • Review of GL reconciliation
  • Preparation of the monthly financial package for the operational locations
  • Provide support/guidance for AR/AP for operational locations
  • Update internal accounting policies and procedures as required for operational locations
  • Assist in seamless Integration of new operational locations into the current financial systems and procedures
  • Assist in acquisition accounting and finalizing of the closing costs
  • Assist junior team members in resolving common challenges.
  • Analysis to identify opportunities of efficiencies and /or inefficiencies providing strategies to mitigate any risks.
  • Support both the Senior Finance Manager and Director with Key Initiatives and/or financial analysis
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned
