SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST, COMPENSATION

LFL (lflgroup.ca) is seeking an experienced, professional Senior Financial Compensation Analyst, based out of our Home Office (401 and Weston Road, Toronto). This demanding in-office role requires a dynamic, experienced, detail-oriented individual with a high energy level and a positive attitude. This position reports directly to the Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis, while also supporting the Finance Management Team and Senior Leaders at LFL. Applicants must thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and manage multiple priorities with finesse, discretion and confidence.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Financial Analyst role, possesses a collaborative work style, is flexible, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects to ensure tight timelines are met. The role requires a university degree, an accounting designation, excellent people skills, outstanding communication skills, sound-judgment, and leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare in-depth monthly review of business financial results, while also highlighting the performance of all key operational initiatives and business risks/opportunities
  • Leverage data to develop meaningful and innovative reporting that will deliver insights that enhance business decisions
  • Work closely with accounting to improve the overall efficiency of the finance organization as well as improve visibility and depth of understanding of all key financial metrics
  • Support the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
  • Support annual financial planning process, quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, and ongoing analysis of actuals versus prior periods, plan and/or forecasts
  • Support the development of an LFL capital plan supported with business cases to ensure future investments are aligned with strategic priorities and are delivering strong returns
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders across LFL to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports for payroll-related accounts
  • Perform in-depth variance analysis for compensation & benefit-related accounts on a regular basis
  • Help with annual fiscal budget preparation for payroll-related accounts
  • Help to manage all bonus programs and track year-to-date bonus liabilities
  • Help to manage the payout of bonuses and profit-sharing programs
  • Manual payroll cheques reconciliation
  • Vacation reconciliation
  • Prepare merit increase sheet once a year
  • Compensation benchmarking analysis
  • Analyze the financial impact of minimum wage increases
  • Help to build LFL Compensation Band
  • Any other compensation and benefit projects as required
