Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will proactively contribute to the Infrastructure and Assets team in delivering overall operational budgeting and financial reporting processes to achieve budget performance and compliance with policies, statutory requirements, and external regulators.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As part of the Capital Planning and Investment team within Infrastructure and Assets branch, you will be responsible for but not limited to; utilising appropriate systems and processes to review, maintain and manage accounting and financial information with the end objective of facilitating a robust and consistent approach to financial management and reporting across the division and ensuring compliance with DCJ’s infrastructure objectives, government policies, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
This includes, reviewing I&A financial and budget performance, analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, identifying financial impacts and risks, providing commercial insight and high level expert advice to the Director/Manager, liaising with key stakeholders on relevant financial matters to inform decision making, highlight financial risk, and support achievement of efficiency, savings targets and strategic outcomes, implementing strategies to educate relevant business areas and staff to enhance financial capability of staff, and manage and coordinate a team to provide advice, support, and coaching.
In the Capita Pl Planning and Investment team, we lead the Department’s interface with NSW Treasury for key capital planning process activities, including the delivery of the Department’s 10-year Capital Planning Limit (CPL) and annual Capital Investment Plan (CIP). In addition, we review recurrent budget performance and provide end of month reporting and analysis for end-to-end operational financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions to understand and optimise the whole of I&A financial position in conjunction with DCJ’s strategic finance function.
