You have:
- knowledge of financial and accounting procedures and practices, modern controllership principles, forecasting, internal controls, audit techniques, and risk assessment principles
- knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- ability to interpret and apply financial policies, guidelines and procedures
- ability to evaluate operations to ensure compliance with financial policies and best practices
ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS
You have:
- ability to analyze, develop and operationalize internal controls, and use risk assessment/risk measurement methodologies
- effective analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct financial analyses and evaluate the business implications of priorities, strategies and directions
- strong planning and issues management skills to provide issues management, strategic advice, and evidence-based decision support to program areas and senior management
- ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures to provide advice to stakeholders and management
- ability to develop solutions and recommendations that are practical, cost-effective and operationally efficient
VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION AND CONSULTATION SKILLS
You have:
- excellent oral communication skills to provide sound advice and accurate information on financial policies and practices to stakeholders
- excellent written communication skills allowing you to communicate effectively, gain support from program areas, and deliver presentations to managers and stakeholders
- ability to develop and sustain partnership with stakeholders
COMPUTER SKILLS
You are:
- proficient with computers and software applications including financial management and reporting systems, word processing, spreadsheets, data visualization applications and presentation applications
- able to conduct analysis, create reports, develop recommendations, prepare presentations and provide advice to program areas and senior management
