Senior Financial Analyst

Position: Senior Financial Analyst Reports to: Manager, Financial Reporting
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team! Our Senior Financial Analyst will support our businesses in the development and reporting of key financial and strategic performance indicators, development of financial models, leading our budget and forecasting processes and analysis of monthly results for Vibrant Health Products Inc. and Carbonaut Baking Inc. In addition, this role will provide support for our internal government grant application submission processes, SR&ED, and customers profitability analysis. You will work closely with the Manager, Financial Reporting and at times directly with our Vice President, Finance.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• You have a related designation with strong analytical skills
• You have an accounting background that you can leverage to resolve complex reconciliation and financial reporting challenges
• You have experience working in fast paced environment, preferably in food manufacturing
• You have advanced Microsoft Office and financial modeling skills
• You have a strong base in computer modeling and reporting application software

o Power BI / Power Query

• You have strong presentation and data management skills
• You are passionate about developing and integrating best practices for financial modelling and analysis

EXPERIENCE

• You have a formal related designation (CPA/CFA)
• You have at least 3 years’ experience in a related role

• Working with cross-functional partners, support the development and reporting of key financial and strategic performance indicators
• Support analysis and explanation of monthly results for Vibrant Health Products and Carbonaut Baking
• Use KPI and monthly results data to create forward-looking projections and insights
• Overhaul existing KPI and Financial reporting moving the business to best practices for publishing reporting and financial data
• Development of financial models including multiyear three statement (BS, IS, CF) with financial covenant and what if analysis
• Leadership role in the internal budget and forecasting processes

o work cross-functionally with other departments

• Advance our internal government grant application submission processes, will include working with external consultants
• Provide leadership and support for our SR&ED submissions and other tax related projects
• Lead our customer profitability analysis

o ie. creation of customer P&Ls

o Optimization of customer pricing models to ensure we stay on track to achieve both profitability and sales targets

• Ownership of complex monthly reconciliations and analysis (including Inventory), optimization and improvement of underlying processes
• Lead reporting automation initiatives
• Assist with year-end external audit
• Assist with the preparation of year-end tax returns
• Other projects and ad hoc analysis as required
