The Senior Financial Analyst will possess advanced analytical, technical, and communication skills to support financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for Distribution Solutions Group, Inc.’s Canadian operations. This role requires at least 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, reporting and ad-hoc analysis. Experience in MRO distribution or post-merger integration is highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • CPA, CFA, or FPAC designation (or within 1 year of achievement) preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in industrial supplies, MRO distribution, or post-merger environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is preferred. – Let’s make this the third bullet please
  • Exposure to CSOX controls and M&A financial analysis is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning across DSGR’s coast-to-coast operations, ensuring alignment with operational synergies.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis, prepare management reporting packages, and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Support post-merger integration by standardizing financial processes across Western and Eastern Canada locations (Bolt Supply House and Source Atlantic).
  • Conduct scenario analysis and financial modeling to support M&A activities and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory cost analysis, including freight adjustments, obsolescence reviews, and supply chain optimization reporting.
  • Assist with annual financial audits, corporate tax filings, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Statistics Canada, CSOX controls).
  • Collaborate with territory managers to provide weekly sales tracking and performance reports.
  • Enhance financial reporting systems, leveraging ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to improve data accuracy and efficiency.
